Article April 20, 2020NSW Government Provides $10,000 Grants for Small Businesses

As the coronavirus situation continues across Australia, thousands of businesses have taken a hit and are now struggling to keep afloat with the state shut down laws in place.

The NSW Government has now announced a further $750 million injection into the Small Business Support Fund in an effort to keep small businesses afloat.

In order to be eligible for this grant, businesses will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be based in NSW
  • Have between 1-19 employees who have been employed as at 1 March 2020
  • Have a turnover of more than $75,000
  • Is under the NSW 2019 – 2020 payroll tax threshold of $900,000
  • Have an active ABN as at 1 March 2020
  • Have been highly impacted by the Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order 2020 issued on 30 March 2020
  • Use the funding for unavoidable business costs such as utilities, overheads, legal costs and financial advice
  • Provide appropriate documentation upon application

The grants will be up to $10,000 per small business and is now available through Service NSW and will remain open until 30 June 2020.
