Commencing on 1 July 2011 the NSW government will provide a $7,000 grant to individuals relocating from a metropolitan home to a regional home. The following criteria applies to the grant:
- Only an individual can apply for the grant.
- The individual must have owned their metropolitan home and occupied it as their primary place of residence in the previous twelve months.
- The regional home must be purchased between 1 July 2011 and 30 June 2015 and not exceed $600,000 in value.
- The individual must sell their metropolitan home within twelve months of purchase of the regional home.
- The individual must live in the regional home as their primary place of residence for at least twelve months commencing within twelve months of purchase date.
